We're looking for an ACD or Design Lead to help our growing health tech client evolve its brand and raise the creative bar across the organization.

This is an opportunity to join a small, ambitious team at an important stage of growth. The company has established foundational elements of a refreshed visual identity and is now looking for someone who can take those ingredients, push them further and turn them into a distinctive, scalable brand system across campaigns, digital experiences, product touchpoints and internal communications.

This is not a role for someone who simply wants to execute against an established brand guide. We're looking for a designer with exceptional taste, a strong point of view and the confidence to challenge the work, while remaining highly hands-on in bringing that vision to life.

The Opportunity

The brand is evolving alongside the business. Today, the organization primarily operates in a B2B/B2B2C environment, with plans to become increasingly consumer-facing over time.

The creative ambition is to move beyond traditional healthcare aesthetics and build something that feels modern, elevated, human and highly distinctive. Think inspiration from sophisticated CPG, consumer technology and design-forward startup brands rather than conventional healthcare creative.

The visual identity also needs to flex across different audiences:

  • Professional audiences: credible, elevated and polished, while still feeling human.

  • Consumers: warmer, more emotional, approachable and celebratory.

  • Internal brand: smart, fun, slightly nerdy and reflective of a modern technology company.

Foundational work around typography, photography and visual direction is already underway. Your job will be to build on that thinking, elevate it and bring it consistently to life across the organization.

What You'll Do

Evolve the Brand

  • Take emerging brand elements and develop them into a cohesive, recognizable and scalable visual system.

  • Establish and strengthen design principles that can guide creative across the organization.

  • Bring a strong creative point of view to the work and identify opportunities to push the brand further.

  • Help define a more ownable photography direction, including image selection, treatments, sourcing and opportunities for original photography.

  • Create work that balances product, storytelling and human emotion without sacrificing sophistication or credibility.

Bring the Brand to Life

  • Design and art direct work across digital campaigns, paid advertising, web, app/product experiences, product launches, internal communications and other brand touchpoints.

  • Lead the initial creative thinking and first executions that establish how the evolving brand translates across different formats.

  • Support upcoming digital promotional campaigns and progressively roll the new visual direction across the broader customer experience.

  • Maintain a high level of consistency and craft as the brand scales.

This is a hands-on design role. While you'll provide creative direction and leadership, you'll also be directly in the work developing concepts and producing high-quality design.

Raise the Creative Bar

You'll work alongside an internal creative team that includes design, copy, project management, motion/video and creative leadership resources.

You'll help:

  • Determine how creative work should come together across channels.

  • Develop strong first-pass concepts and executions.

  • Delegate and provide direction where appropriate.

  • Coach and provide thoughtful feedback to other designers.

  • Push the team beyond reactive execution toward stronger creative thinking.

  • Challenge briefs or creative approaches when you see an opportunity to make the work better.

Formal people-management experience isn't essential. What matters most is creative leadership aptitude, confidence, strong judgment and the ability to make the people and work around you better.

What We're Looking For

  • Senior-level experience in brand design, visual design or art direction.

  • An exceptional portfolio demonstrating strong visual craft and sophisticated brand thinking.

  • Experience taking an evolving visual identity and extending it into a broader design system.

  • Strong digital design experience across campaigns, web, advertising and other digital touchpoints.

  • Excellent typography, layout, photography and visual storytelling skills.

  • A strong understanding of how to create consistency without making a brand feel formulaic.

  • The ability to balance strategic brand thinking with hands-on execution.

  • Confidence presenting a point of view, pushing back constructively and advocating for stronger creative.

  • A proactive mindset and comfort working in an environment where not everything has already been defined.

  • Experience coaching or providing creative direction to other designers is an asset.

  • Experience with healthcare or wellness is not required.

Portfolio

We're particularly interested in portfolios that demonstrate an ability to blend design, photography, product and emotion.

Experience with modern CPG, consumer technology, lifestyle, digital products or other design-forward brands could translate particularly well.

Beyond beautiful individual pieces, we want to see how you've taken a visual idea or brand system and carried it cohesively across campaigns, channels and customer touchpoints.

Asset & Brand Library

A smaller portion of the role (approximately 10%) will involve helping improve how creative assets are organized and accessed.

The existing asset library requires significant cleanup, and the organization is working toward a more structured Digital Asset Management (DAM) environment. You may help establish better systems for photography, brand assets and other creative resources, although deep DAM expertise is not required.

This is a high-impact opportunity for a designer who wants to do more than maintain an existing brand. You'll have the opportunity to shape how an evolving company looks, feels and shows up - and leave behind a stronger creative system than the one you inherited.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) Use

At Creative Niche Inc. all hiring decisions are made by qualified recruitment professionals.
Automated tools or AI-assisted systems are used to help screen, assess, or match applicants to open roles. These systems are designed to support, not replace, human judgment.

Equal Opportunity & Experience

Canadian experience is not required for consideration. Equivalent international experience is valued equally.

We're committed to creating an inclusive, accessible hiring experience. If you need accommodation at any stage, please let us know - we'll make sure you're supported every step of the way.
