We're looking for a well-rounded marketer who loves building strategy but is just as happy rolling up your sleeves and making things happen.

An established, growing organization in the building materials and distribution industry to find a Senior Marketing Manager who can take ownership of marketing across multiple brands and locations.

This is an exciting opportunity for an entrepreneurial, hands-on marketer who wants to make a real impact on a business. You'll have the autonomy to shape marketing strategy, bring new ideas to the table, and build programs that directly support sales, customer engagement, and business growth.

Here's what makes this opportunity unique:

You'll be a marketing team of one. That means you'll own the big-picture strategy, but you'll also be the person bringing it to life. One day, you might be developing a marketing plan or collaborating with senior leadership on growth opportunities. The next, you could be updating website content, creating a sales presentation, coordinating an event, or handling the administrative details of a vendor marketing program.

There's no large marketing department to delegate to, and that's exactly what should excite you about this role. You'll have the freedom to own initiatives from concept through execution and see the direct impact of your work.

We're looking for someone who's strategic enough to see the big picture, resourceful enough to figure things out, and hands-on enough to get the job done.

What You'll Be Doing

Own the Marketing Strategy

  • Develop and execute marketing plans that support business growth, customer acquisition, retention, and sales objectives.
  • Take ownership of marketing across multiple brands and branch locations, ensuring consistent messaging and brand positioning.
  • Manage marketing budgets, establish KPIs, track performance, and identify opportunities to improve ROI.
  • Work closely with sales, operations, and leadership to understand business priorities and turn them into effective marketing initiatives.

Roll Up Your Sleeves and Execute

  • Personally create and manage marketing materials, including brochures, presentations, product sheets, email campaigns, promotions, and customer communications.
  • Manage day-to-day marketing requests, from content updates and creative projects to coordinating print materials and promotional activities.
  • Handle the details that keep marketing running smoothly, including vendor coordination, budget tracking, administrative tasks, and project follow-through.
  • Balance longer-term strategic initiatives with the immediate, practical needs of a busy, multi-location business.

Drive Digital Marketing & Brand Visibility

  • Manage and improve company websites, including content updates, SEO, user experience, and lead generation.
  • Plan and execute digital campaigns across email, social media, paid advertising, and other relevant channels.
  • Create and manage engaging content that supports brand awareness, product education, customer engagement, and recruitment.
  • Monitor marketing performance and use insights to continuously improve results.

Partner with Sales, Branch Teams & Vendors

  • Collaborate with sales teams to develop tools, campaigns, and materials that help drive business.
  • Support product launches, seasonal promotions, customer events, trade shows, and local marketing initiatives.
  • Build relationships with supplier and vendor partners to develop joint marketing programs and maximize co-op marketing opportunities.
  • Manage the administrative side of vendor co-op programs, including tracking funding, submitting claims, maintaining documentation, and reconciling expenses.
  • Work with branch leadership to identify local opportunities and deliver marketing support tailored to their markets.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for a versatile, experienced marketer who thrives on ownership, variety, and getting things done.

You'll ideally bring:

  • 5–10+ years of progressive marketing experience, ideally within B2B distribution, building materials, construction, manufacturing, or a related industry.
  • A strong blend of strategic marketing experience and hands-on execution across digital, content, brand, campaigns, and sales enablement.
  • Experience working in a lean marketing environment, ideally as a sole marketer or part of a small team where you've personally owned execution.
  • A solid understanding of B2B marketing and how marketing can directly support sales teams, customer relationships, and revenue growth.
  • Experience managing websites, social media, email marketing, marketing collateral, and digital campaigns.
  • Strong project management skills and the ability to juggle competing priorities across multiple stakeholders and locations.
  • Experience managing marketing budgets, vendor relationships, and ideally co-op marketing programs.
  • Confidence working independently, making decisions, solving problems, and seeing projects through from beginning to end.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships with sales teams, operational leaders, vendors, and senior leadership.
  • A degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field.

The Kind of Person Who Will Thrive Here

You're a builder, not just a strategist. You enjoy developing a marketing roadmap, but you're equally energized by the work required to bring it to life.

You're not afraid to get your hands dirty. No task is beneath you. Whether it's developing a campaign, updating a webpage, organizing promotional materials, or managing spreadsheets and administrative details, you understand that it's all part of making marketing successful.

You're comfortable being a team of one. You don't need a large team or extensive resources to make progress. You're proactive, resourceful, and capable of figuring things out independently.

You're commercially minded. You understand that marketing isn't just about creating great-looking materials. It's about supporting sales, strengthening customer relationships, and contributing to business results.

You love variety. You're energized by wearing multiple hats, switching between projects, and working with different teams and stakeholders.

You take ownership. You're someone who identifies what needs to be done, takes initiative, and follows through without needing constant direction.

Why You'll Love This Opportunity

  • Make a real impact: Own marketing across multiple established businesses and see how your work contributes to growth.
  • Enjoy genuine autonomy: Help shape marketing priorities, introduce new ideas, and take ownership of execution.
  • Work closely with leadership: Collaborate directly with decision-makers and influence business initiatives.
  • Keep things interesting: No two days will look the same, with opportunities to work across brand, digital, sales enablement, events, and more.
  • Enjoy location flexibility: Work in a hybrid capacity from one of several Ontario office locations, including Aurora, Acton, Brantford, Orillia, Orono, or Peterborough.

If you're an experienced B2B marketer who wants the freedom to own your work, the opportunity to build something meaningful, and the satisfaction of seeing your ideas come to life, we'd love to hear from you.

This is an opportunity for someone who doesn't just want to manage marketing, they want to do marketing.
