We are building a bench of experienced Motion Designers / Animators who can step into fast-moving creative projects with limited lead time.

 

Assignments may begin with as little as one week's notice and typically run for approximately three weeks at full-time hours. This opportunity is well suited to a versatile designer who can move confidently between projects, visual styles, and 2D and 3D execution.

 

You will initially collaborate closely with a US-based and Montreal-based creative team that values strong opinions, confidence, respect, and active creative participation.

 

What You'll Work On

 

Deliverables may include:

  • Title cards
  • Large-format billboards
  • Motion graphics for video game trailers
  • 3D animation and design
  • 2D motion graphics
  • UI elements
  • Campaign and promotional creative

 

Responsibilities

  • Conceptualize, design, and animate 2D and 3D motion graphics
  • Create titles, UI elements, and visual assets for trailers and campaigns
  • Apply strong typography, layout, and core design principles
  • Collaborate with creative, production, and post-production teams
  • Interpret creative briefs and deliver against project objectives
  • Develop concepts, visual directions, and storyboards
  • Participate actively in brainstorming and creative-review sessions
  • Research new design techniques, visual references, and production approaches
  • Move efficiently between different projects and visual styles
  • Provide clear project and design-status updates
  • Maintain organized project files using established naming, version-control, and asset-management practices
  • Deliver high-quality work within short timelines and fast-paced production schedules

 

Required Experience and Skills

  • Professional experience in motion design, animation, or post-production
  • Strong 2D and 3D motion-design capabilities
  • Advanced proficiency in:
    • Adobe After Effects
    • Adobe Photoshop
    • Adobe Illustrator
  • Experience using video-editing and post-production tools such as:
    • Adobe Premiere Pro
    • DaVinci Resolve
  • Strong concept-development, typography, composition, and layout skills
  • Ability to work quickly without compromising creative quality
  • Confidence contributing ideas and expressing a clear creative point of view
  • Strong communication, responsiveness, and follow-through
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities independently
  • Comfort working collaboratively with remote and cross-border teams
  • Availability for short-term, full-time assignments with limited advance notice
  • Based in the Montreal or broader Quebec area preferred, but our client is open to anyone based in Canada

 

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Cinema 4D or other 3D software
  • Experience creating motion graphics for entertainment or gaming
  • Familiarity with video game trailers and promotional content
  • Experience producing large-format or out-of-home creative
  • Knowledge of gaming culture, visual styles, and audiences

 

Project Structure

  • Temporary, project-based assignments
  • Average project duration of approximately three weeks
  • Full-time hours during active projects
  • Some assignments may begin with approximately one week's notice
  • Work will be offered as projects become available

 

The Ideal Candidate

 

You are a creative generalist who can shift seamlessly between design, animation, editing, and visual problem-solving. You are comfortable working quickly, sharing opinions, receiving feedback, and collaborating closely with creative and production teams.

You bring both strong technical execution and thoughtful creative judgment, and you are confident contributing from the initial concept through final delivery.
