We're partnering with a leading financial services organization to hire a Marketing Operations Manager who will help evolve how marketing and creative work moves through the organization.

This is a highly collaborative leadership role at the intersection of marketing operations, creative production, technology and process improvement. You'll lead a team responsible for keeping a high volume of marketing initiatives moving efficiently while identifying opportunities to simplify workflows, improve capacity planning and use technology and automation to increase speed and scalability.

The ideal candidate understands how great creative and content gets made - but is equally passionate about the people, processes and technology behind the work.

What You'll Do

Lead Marketing & Creative Operations

You'll lead and develop a team of marketing production and operations professionals responsible for supporting a busy, multi-channel marketing organization.

You'll:

  • Provide coaching, direction and ongoing development to your team.
  • Establish clear priorities and ensure work is appropriately distributed across internal resources.
  • Monitor workloads and capacity to anticipate resource needs and potential delivery risks.
  • Partner with marketing and creative leaders on project planning and prioritization.
  • Build an accountable, collaborative team culture focused on solving problems and continually improving how work gets done.
  • Help your team navigate competing priorities in a complex, fast-moving environment.

Improve the Way Marketing Work Gets Done

You'll take a holistic view of the marketing production lifecycle - from the initial request through creative development, approvals and final delivery.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assessing existing workflows and identifying opportunities to eliminate bottlenecks and unnecessary steps.
  • Developing clear and scalable processes for project intake, scoping, prioritization, production, review and delivery.
  • Improving handoffs between Marketing, Creative, Translation, Compliance and other business partners.
  • Establishing service expectations and helping teams work against clear timelines and responsibilities.
  • Supporting effective version control and approval processes.
  • Ensuring marketing materials are appropriately maintained, updated and retired throughout their lifecycle.
  • Creating greater visibility into project status, priorities, capacity and delivery timelines.
  • Helping the organization increase content velocity without sacrificing quality or regulatory requirements.

Own Workflow Technology & Automation

Technology will be an important part of how you improve the marketing operation.

You'll help define the roadmap for the platforms and tools supporting marketing and content production, with a particular focus on Adobe Workfront and related content technologies.

You'll:

  • Act as a key business owner for marketing workflow and production technology.
  • Optimize Workfront to support effective intake, planning, resource management and delivery.
  • Partner with technology teams on platform enhancements, integrations and implementation.
  • Evaluate how tools across workflow management, digital asset management, proofing and content creation work together.
  • Maintain appropriate processes and documentation around technology, access and governance.
  • Identify opportunities to automate repetitive or manual activities.
  • Explore practical applications for generative AI and emerging creative technologies across marketing operations.
  • Develop a longer-term roadmap for improving efficiency and scalability through people, process and technology.

You don't need to be a developer, but you should be technologically curious and comfortable translating business needs into effective workflow and technology solutions.

Partner Across the Organization

This role will work with a broad group of stakeholders across Marketing, Creative, Product, Compliance, Corporate Communications, Translation, Technology and other business functions.

You'll be expected to:

  • Bring teams together around shared priorities and timelines.
  • Communicate clearly when priorities or resource requirements change.
  • Navigate competing stakeholder needs diplomatically.
  • Build processes that work for both creative teams and highly regulated business environments.
  • Use data and operational insights to recommend improvements.
  • Influence stakeholders and create accountability even when you don't directly manage the teams involved.

Manage Agency & Vendor Partners

You'll also help determine when external partners can supplement internal capabilities and ensure those relationships deliver value.

This will include:

  • Assessing when work should be handled internally versus externally.
  • Supporting the selection and onboarding of agencies and specialized vendors.
  • Establishing expectations and performance measures for external partners.
  • Monitoring quality, timelines and service levels.
  • Identifying opportunities to improve vendor performance and resource efficiency.
  • Ensuring appropriate governance and controls are maintained when working with third parties.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who combines strong operational thinking with an understanding of creative and marketing production.

You'll ideally bring:

  • 5+ years of experience in Marketing Operations, Creative Operations, Content Operations, Marketing Production or a related discipline.
  • Previous experience formally leading and developing a team.
  • Strong understanding of how creative and marketing content moves from brief through production, review, approval and delivery.
  • Experience improving complex workflows and production processes.
  • Strong project, resource and capacity-management skills.
  • Experience with Adobe Workfront or a comparable enterprise workflow-management platform.
  • Exposure to digital asset management, proofing, creative production or related marketing technologies.
  • Experience contributing to marketing technology strategy, implementation or optimization.
  • Comfort using data to identify operational issues and measure improvement.
  • An interest in AI, automation and emerging marketing technologies, with the ability to identify practical applications for them.
  • Experience working with creative and design teams.
  • Strong stakeholder-management skills and the confidence to work across multiple functions and levels of an organization.
  • Experience managing external agencies, production partners or other vendors.

Experience within financial services or another regulated industry would be an asset, particularly if you've worked with complex review, compliance or governance requirements.

The Person

You're someone who can move comfortably between strategy and execution.

You can look at a complicated workflow, understand where it's slowing down and bring the right people together to make it better. You're naturally curious about technology, but you don't implement new tools simply for the sake of technology - you think about how they can meaningfully improve the way people work.

You're also a thoughtful people leader who gives your team clarity and support while creating accountability. Most importantly, you enjoy building the operational foundation that allows creative and marketing teams to do their best work.
