Our client is seeking a creative and experienced Broadcast Studio / Set Design Consultant to support the design and build of a new studio environment as part of a major office relocation planned for this year.

This role will focus on developing modern, broadcast-quality studio concepts that combine physical set elements with integrated LED wall technology to create a polished morning-show aesthetic. The consultant will work closely with internal stakeholders, AV/technology partners, and construction vendors from concept development through execution.

Project Scope

The new space will include:

  • Two studio environments in one shared space
  • LED wall integration
  • Anchor desk and broadcast presentation areas
  • Podcast setup
  • Practical scenic materials integrated with digital environments

The desired look and feel is inspired by contemporary morning television studios - polished and modern, while still grounded in physical scenic design rather than fully immersive virtual production.

Responsibilities

  • Develop creative studio and scenic design concepts based on architectural dimensions and operational requirements
  • Create visual materials to guide stakeholder discussions, including:
    • Mood boards
    • Storyboards
    • Concept sketches
    • Renderings/mockups

  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners on layout, functionality, and production workflows
  • Integrate physical set design with LED wall environments and on-camera presentation needs
  • Participate in planning meetings and support design decision-making throughout the project lifecycle
  • Coordinate with vendors, fabricators, and construction partners during implementation
  • Provide recommendations on materials, finishes, lighting considerations, and broadcast-friendly layouts

Qualifications

  • Experience in broadcast studio, theatrical, experiential, scenic, or production set design
  • Strong portfolio showcasing studio or media-related environments
  • Experience designing spaces that integrate physical scenic elements with digital/LED environments
  • Ability to communicate ideas visually through renderings, concept boards, and presentations
  • Familiarity with construction/vendor coordination and production workflows
  • Strong collaboration and stakeholder management skills

Nice to Have

  • Experience designing morning-show, news, or live broadcast environments
  • Familiarity with modern media production spaces and AV infrastructure
  • Experience working alongside technology/integration partners

Additional Details

  • Contract opportunity based in the Greater Toronto Area
  • Timeline and project phases to be finalized
  • Opportunity to contribute to a high-visibility media environment from concept through build

If you're passionate about designing engaging broadcast environments and bringing creative studio concepts to life, we'd love to hear from you.
